Things To Do

WWT London Wetland Centre

Don’t you love visiting your neighbours Especially when they are an award-winning nature reserve. WWT London Wetland Centre brings the countryside to London, and is an urban oasis for both wildlife and people.

Discover some of the prettiest ducks, geese and swans from around the globe – plus a couple of otters – on a stroll through Wetlands of the World. And find out how WWT’s conservation work around the world is helping to protect wetlands and the amazing wildlife that depends on them.

For keen bird watchers there are bitterns in the winter and yellow wagtails on the grazing marsh in summer. Over 200 species of bird have been recorded on site since we opened in 2000.

Also making their home amongst the 300,000 plants and 27,000 trees we planted during the Central’s creation are water voles, dragonflies, frogs, snakes, slow worms, bats, newts and butterflies, to name just a few.

But it’s not just wildlife enthusiasts that enjoy the beauty of our nature reserve. It’s a wonderful place for a relaxing walk through the scenic paths that meander among the lakes and gardens.

As a member of the London Wetland Centre you get unlimited free visits to see our adorable otters, rare ducks and geese. You can refuel on the go at our waterside cafees and we also have fantastic play areas for kids with zip slides and climbing walls.
